Feeling at Home in Bogota

Well, today was a relaxing day here at Las Palmas. Dana slept half the day and Andy took a really good nap too. Sometimes we just need days like that:) We had plans to do something this afternoon, but the day got away from us and we didn't make it out. We did manage to have both kids napping at the same time today though and that was nice.

Hanging out with Daddy.

Andy and Dana have a little play time.

There was a cookout today for lunch and Mark helped out. We had chicken, steak, hot dogs, etc. It was sunny and we ate outside.

Here is Andy and his Danish friend, Emilie, in their Colombian soccer team jerseys. Emilie is 5 years old and was adopted from Bogota 5 years ago. She and her family are adopting her baby brother, Sebastian from FANA. Andy and Emilie get along well. There are no arguments when you both speak different languages:)

We were invited to another guest house, Hotel Paris, last night to help our new friends, Corey, Kelly, and Nathan celebrate their Sentencia. Nathan was also adopted from CRAN. He is a big boy and is soooo cute and easy-going. Corey, Kelly, and Nathan are from Phoenix and will be flying home this Sunday. Kelly's mom, Alice, is also here with them. We had an awesome dinner at Hotel Paris. We were really impressed. There are 3 other American families staying at Hotel Paris. 2 of the families are adopting sibling groups of 3 and 1 family a sibling group of 2. Needless to say, Hotel Paris is hopping. We were greeted by 8 little kids when we arrived.
Tomorrow we are going on a day-long tour that will take us to various villages outside of Bogota. We hope to learn a little more about the history of Colombia, experience typical Colombian villages, and of course, do a little shopping. We look forward to telling you about our adventure.

Hello Mark, Jodie, Andy and Dana,

We miss you! Andy we can't wait to see you when you get back with your little sister. She is as cute as you are.

I have been taking copies of the pictures and hanging them so everyone can see them.

It sounds like you are learning alot about Columbia and having lots of fun.

Please give your sister a big hug and kiss and we miss you alot.

Take care.

Love,
Cathy and all your daycare friends
